Providing Encouragement and Eternal Hope

Areas of Focus

Belize

Daniel and Suzanne Butler and their son Pete spent the first five months of 2010 in a rural area of Belize. Suzanne is a medical doctor and operated a medical clinic which was the only medical facility within a half-days drive. Daniel oversaw Jacob's Farm, a working farm providing rehabilitation for substance abusers. They are currently in the States but plan to return to Belize to more fully develop Noah's Workshop, a program using short-term teams from the States to encourage and mentor young and old alike as they learn new skills.

Bob and Jennifer Fraser and their daughters are going to spend the summer in the northern part of Belize working in the villages of Cristo Ray, Patchekan and Concepcion. They will be building relationships with schools and churches preparing the way to move there for a multiple year stay beginning in 2012.

Laos

Desirae Clark spent the spring in Laos helping Rachel Dennis develop a business model for providing vocational training for women rescued from trafficking. Rachel formed eth.nik, a trading company, which we are partnering with to create self-sustaining ventures involving design, production and distribution of clothing and accessories benefiting ministries providing alternative lifestyles to women involved in prostitution and drugs.

Mexico

Russ Krube serves as the director of Casa de Ninos, a Mexican orphanage in Tepic where children are cared for in a loving, Christian environment. The Casa serves children of all ages. Some are placed there by local authorities for how ever long it takes to work out for them to be returned to relatives. Many live there for years until they have completed our equivalent of high school.

Stephen and Marcela Tolman are good friends and ministry partners who oversee a church and many related activities including a drug rehabilitation facility in San Pedro. Most recently we have been involved in providing a scholarship program to students, helping Mexican young people prepare for serving as missionaries in a cross-cultural environment, and assisting in a feeding program benefiting children living in one of the most impoverished areas of Torreon.

Uganda

David and Renee Ives and four of their six children have spent the last nine months in Uganda where they have worked in Kampala and Jinja serving ministries working largely with children. They are in the process of returning to the States for debriefing and a welcomed rest.
